Traffic Signs

Traffic signs are designed to provide warnings and keep drivers safe, but they only work if people notice them. The stop sign is the most ubiquitous one on the road, but some drivers will roll them, or simply keep driving if they do not see traffic coming in other directions. Stop signs are not a recommendation, and if drivers coming from two directions both ignore them, the end result can be an accident. Speed signs are also very common, but they represent a top limit, not a suggested speed. In addition to getting a speeding ticket or causing an accident, driving at high speeds is not fuel efficient. When approaching intersections, keep an eye open for signs prohibiting turns or U-Turns. By making an illegal turn onto the wrong direction of a one-way street, you could find yourself in the middle of an accident.
