Background Checks

Most companies will run background checks on the candidates they are considering for a job. Companies need to protect themselves from negative situations, so they will examine the background of job candidates to screen for issues, especially if the job has security requirements. Depending on the job, applicants can expect a company to look into their criminal history, credit report, school records and workman's compensation records, if applicable. If your goal is to work as a commercial driver, you will first need a commercial driver's license, or CDL. Your career path might steer you toward operating a taxi, a limousine, a school bus or some other commercial vehicle. In that case, it is likely that an employer will look into your background before hiring you.
